He didn’t. He was an enslaver. Later he was an abolitionist. So he was first for enslavement and later against it. But I am not an expert on BF. I was curious about David Mason’s comment and checked Wikipedia to see whether there was anything there about BF and slavery, so I shared what I found.

Irrelevant. Was he held accountable for his crimes? No.
